About Us

The Tatreez Retreat’s initial idea came about in January of 2023 when Lina and Amanne met for dinner and were chatting about gathering in-person with all the amazing tatreez artists they had befriended online over the years. Eventually the idea evolved into hosting a retreat to create an opportunity for tatreez artists to meet and stitch. Parallel to this, Bayan was planning on hosting a similar gathering for stitchers after realizing it was a need in the tatreez community post-covid. She ended up connecting with Lina then with Amanne, and before we knew it, the three of us had joined forces to bring this project to life.

After months of planning our first retreat in Santa Fe, New Mexico, we gathered in October of 2023 with a group of 10 tatreez artists from all over the country. We stitched, laughed, learned, and built a stronger community and sisterhood through this entire process, and we want more tatreez-ers to have this experience.

The Tatreez Retreat is now an annual gathering, where our latest trips our announced here. We can’t wait to continue strengthening bonds through tatreez!
